Art Meets Wellness: Hyacinth Hosts Informative Sip & Paint

Amanda Nieves, RN, BS, the Harm Reduction Health Nurse at Hyacinth in Jersey City, recently hosted an interactive event for the community combining art and education. The evening began with a screening of VOICES/VOCES, an educational video highlighting condom use and safe sex negotiation strategies to prevent HIV and STIs. Following the video, Amanda led an insightful presentation on various sexually transmitted infections. In a creative twist, participants painted the microscopic structures of each microorganism discussed. The event sparked vibrant conversations about safe sex, PrEP, PEP, and the critical importance of prioritizing personal and partner health.
