Harm Reduction Health Program

The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) supports the integration of health services at harm reduction sites across the State of New Jersey.

The Harm Reduction Health Program works to be a safe, non-judgmental space for all clients to reduce harm in their lives while empowering each person to engage in improving and maintaining their own health.

Services

These services are free of charge:

  • Wound care
  • Syringe access/safer use supplies
  • Naloxone (e.g. Narcan)
  • HIV & hepatitis C (HCV) testing
  • STI testing and treatment
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Health education and counseling for:
    • Drug use and harm reduction
    • Overdose prevention
    • Sexual and reproductive health
    • Nutrition
  • Easy access to:
    • HIV, HCV and STI treatment
    • PrEP for HIV prevention
    • DoxyPEP for STI prevention
    • Buprenorphine for opioid treatment
    • Prenatal care
    • Mental health care and stress reduction
    • And more
